Initially several participants worked together to test the corn rootworm Areawide Pest Management concept across the Corn Belt. Beginning in 1996, the ARS provided funding to university cooperators to test the feasibility of the concept. Additional resources from partner government agencies, universities, state commodity commissions, and industry-supported programs augmented funds provided by ARS.
